I am a Bioinformatics Scientist in the Young laboratory at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and an Associated Scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. I also serve as a vice-chair of the NextGen Association. My research interests include transcriptional regulation in mammals, the role of nuclear organization in gene expression, and cancer epigenetics. More specifically, I am interested in nuclear organization and transcriptional dysregulation in hematologic malignancies. I earned my Ph.D. from the NYU School of Medicine, where I worked with Drs. Iannis Aifantis and Aristotelis Tsirigos on genetic alterations of topologically associating domain (TAD) boundaries and their link with aberrant oncogene activation in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. A full copy of my Ph.D. dissertation can be found on Proquest (Number 10640945). More details about me and my scientific work can be found here: https://chlazaris.github.io/
